Levels of Certification
 Professional experience in career services is the most important aspect in ICC International Certification. A qualified Applicant spends a majority of his/her professional employment in the profession.
Years of Experience: To earn credit for one year of experience, you must spend at least 50% of your work time in the career professional field. Equivalency may be pro-rated over a period of years and should be thoroughly documented.
Associate Level
Three years of work experience, at least two years in the career professional field
Definition: An Associate is at the beginning or “in-training” level prior to qualifying for Certification with ICC International. Those who are qualified for Certification as a Practitioner should not apply for the Associate level.
Practitioner Level (CMP)
Eight years of work experience, at least four in the career professional field.
Definition: A Practitioner is considered to be a front-line provider of career professional services.
Fellow Practitioner (CMF)
Twelve years of work experience, at least six in the career professional field.
Definition: A Fellow is recognized as a leader in the career professional field.
Fellow Manager (CMF)
Twelve years of work experience, at least six in the career professional field. Three of the six years in career management must include supervision of at least five career professional practitioners.
Definition: A Fellow Manager is a leader in the career professional field as well as an experienced manager and supervisor of career professional practitioners.
Fellow Emeritus (CMF)
This classification is provided for Certificants who are no longer practicing career service professionals, but who have previously attained the Certification level of Fellow.
